The Latest....

Wow,
So, I realized that it's been 3 years since I've last posted to this site.  Well, with myspace, facebook, twitter, and everything else on the internet nowadays, I felt that this blog site was a little unnecessary.  However, with the internet being what it is today, any, and all outlets are a good thing.
So, professionally, things are currently going really well.  I am now the drummer for Everclear.  Yes, that Everclear.  I've been in the band since July, and we've been playing killer shows all over the US, and even dipped into Canada as well.  That's the lastest.
I've also toured with Teddy Geiger, played shows with Kerli, Stefy (with whom I toured the UK with!), and the one and only Perry Farrell.  I toured with him, and his band, Satellite Party.  I got to play the main stage at Lollapalooza!  I've also been a part of the bands Into The Presence, and We Are The Fury.  Been busy, and hustling.
On a personal note....since I've last posted here, I've gotten married, and couldn't be happier.  I love my wife, and we are expecting our first child.... A GIRL!  Really looking forward to her arrival and being a daddy!
Hopefully, I'll be posting more frequently with fun news from the road, or about my wife, Stefanie, our puppy Snoopy, and the little bun in the oven, who we affectionately refer to as "Munchkin", at least until we come up with a name for her.
Til then....

MYSPACE!!!

Hey all. Just posting to let you know that I have OFFICIALLY joined MYSPACE!!! I know of at least one fake myspace site of me, and there may be more. Please disregard them, ignore them, don't respond to them, don't give them any power. My official myspace is www.myspace.com/jordanplosky. Look forward to seeing you all on there!

WOW!

Just got finished watching the first episode of Score. Ryan and I watched together, and the rest of the guys are all gonna get together later tonight and watch it on TiVo. This is definitely a different feeling than just performing on a talk show or something. There we were, on tv, doing what we do. I was really happy with how the show came out, and how the songs came out. I think they sounded great, and the kids did a great job. Can't wait for tomorrow's show!
And although the NEW episodes air at 4:30pmEST, the shows are airing like 3-4 times a day, so check your listings, because the shows are going to air during prime time EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK!!!!!!!!! So psyched! Drop a line and let me know what you thought of the show!

SCORE THIS MONDAY!

So, recently MTV has been showing promo clips for Score, which is going to debut THIS MONDAY at 4:30pmEST!!!!!!! Really psyched about seeing the show, I've been anticipating it for a while now. So, make sure to check it out!
On another note, I am out in LA right now working out some possible gigging situations. One of the coolest things that I have going on right now is jamming with some guys who used to back up other teen-pop stars. Really looking forward to getting that project off the ground and start working again. Happy New Year to all those that celebrate! And of course, feel free to e-mail me at jordanplosky@jordanplosky.com!

Moving on...

So, some of you may notice in the upcoming weeks that there may be something different with Ryan's live shows...... Some of you may notice that I am not there anymore. That's right, I am no longer the drummer for Ryan Cabrera. But, no need to worry. I am moving on and working with a bunch of other working gigs at the moment, so you may see me out in a city by you real soon!
Also, I'd like to make clear that Ryan and I are still great friends, and very supportive of each other. Just because we are no longer in a band, or touring together doesn't mean that we aren't friends, or don't care about each other. I had a tremendous year with Ryan, Taylor, Ethan, KC, Josh, and most recently Raoul (and of course our awesome crew!). We are all extremely close and nothing will ever change that. These guys are some of my best friends in the world, and I know they feel the same about me.
So, on that note, keep checking back here for updates on what I'm doing, and also, go out and get Ryan's record on September 20th, called "You Stand Watching"! See you all REAL soon!
AND FINALLY......SCORE premiers on MTV on October 10th, so make sure not to miss that! It will air every weekday for 20 episodes, and I'm sure because it's MTV, they will re-run it all the time!

Just a reminder.....

I love getting pictures from all of you, but you MUST send them as an attatchment, not as a part of the main e-mail message, or else my server does not get them. Looking forward to many more e-mials and pics at jordanplosky@jordanplosky.com. :)

Mo' Problems

Hello Hello!!! Sorry to leave you all hanging, but I am having some huge problems with my computer, and have been updating the blog from other computers. Needless to say, those computers don't have any of my pics on them, and therefore I have not been able to download any pics to the blog. But, rest assured, as soon as I can, I will get some pics to you!
Now, on to the good stuff! Roosevelt Field Mall show! Sorry to anyone that was expecting the 5pm show. But as you saw, the weather was pretty rotten that day, and the show was pushed up to 1:30pm to try and beat the weather. the show was a lot of fun. My parents, grandma and a bunch of my friends were at the show, since I'm from Long Island. The crowd was amazing, and it was fun to finally play some new songs. Went out for a nice big group dinner that night thanks to mom and dad.
the next day, we flew into Cincinnati to play at King's Island. It was such a friggin' hot day. during souncheck I was sweating bullets, and when we were done with the show, my clothes were completely soaked through. The Ohio crowd was absolutely AMAZING though! You guys made it so fun for us to play that night. Got to go out to the KISS-FM Saturday night party, which was real fun too. Now back home until our next weekend trip to VA, NC, FL, and MN. See ya soon!

Home Again

So, we finished taping Score this past Thursday. It was a great experience, almost like popstar summer camp. We became really close with a lot of people on the crew and set of the show. It was just a positive vibe whenever we were on set. The contestants for the most part were entertaining in their own ways. Some of them were actually really good, but others were fun because they were just so bad!
I'm going to miss a lot of new friends that I made in LA, and just being stationary for a while. We have a lot of shows coming up soon. We are going to play in South Dakota this weekend, and we are going to be busy every weekend through October, I believe. Still trying to just settle in at home right now though, unpacking, and organizing things. Going to dine on some of my favorite restaurants that I've been missing out on all month too.
Oh, and as soon as I can connect MY computer to the internet, I will be posting some pics from Score! Keep an eye out!

More Score...

So, we're more than half done filming the tv show in sunny LA. Finished filming the whole first segment of the show, and we just started filming the "performance" part of the show, playing all of Ryan's new songs from the new record. Still long days of filming, but now we have a live audience in front of us, which definitely helps when stepping up my own personal performance. Playing a show in Baton Rouge, LA this weekend, definitely psyched about getting in front of a large crowd again. More to come soon hopefully. So, stay tuned....

Score

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I've been really busy lately, no time for anything. We are super busy right now with 14-15 hour filming days for Score. We are filming in LA, and things are going really well. The show is gonna be awesome. I can't say too much about it, but we're all having fun filming it, although it is very long, tiring work.
On another note, thanks to everyone who came to our show in Hot Springs, AR last weekend. We all had a blast playing and the crowd was incredible. It was our first live show in about 5-6 weeks, and it was a true joy being back on stage.
And finally, I am not a member on myspace. I am flattered that someone out there has set up a profile of me, but sorry to say that it is not me. They are just playing around....whoever THEY are. Sorry to disappoint.

Live 8

So, usually, I don't use this blog as an excuse for my thoughts, it's usually just an update of what I've been doing. But, right now I'm watching the Live 8 concert on MTV. And I have to say, I think it's phenominal. We do have a voice, and we should use that voice to help out our fellow people across the globe who are in need of our help. Sign petitions, register for www.one.org, sne ddonations, write letters. Make the world a better place.
I'm sitting here watching Pink Floyd re-unite, and have one of the most memorable performances that I've seen in such a long time. If they can put their differences aside and do something historic, then we all can, even if on a smaller scale.

SCORE!

So, I'm flying out to LA tomorrow, and while I am there, we will start filming the t.v. series, "Score" for MTV. Definitely psyched about the show, being on t.v., and being in LA for a long time while we film. It's going to be good to see all the guys again too. I haven't seen KC, Taylor, or Josh since the last show we played in late May. I hung out with Ethan and Ryan over the summer for a couple of days, which was a real good time. Looking forward to more good times now. Unfortunately, Raoul, the best damn sax player in THE WORLD! will not be joining us on Score. It's a bummer, but when we hit the road again this fall, he will surely be with us, rockin out as always!
So, hopefully there will be some updates within the next month about how filming is going and stuff like that. Gotta get to sleep now, early flight tomorrow morning. ;)

DONE, FINITO, FIN, END, and all that jazz

So, we are finally done with the promotion of "Take It All Away". Next time you see us out for a live show will be to tour behind Ryan's new (as of yet untitled) record. These last few shows were some of our best, despite the early flights, and lack of sleep, we really felt that we went out with a bang. The Fayettville, AR show, the Norfolk, VA show, and finally the Greensville, SC show were some of our best.
We have the month of June off, which is much needed, and we head back to work in July, when we start filming the first season of "Score", for MTV. We are going to be filming for 5 weeks in LA, and then hopefully start touring again as soon as that's over. Ryan's record, and live DVD are supposed to be released in September, so keep an eye out for that.

Since not much is going on, there may not be very many updates, But I'll try to pop in occasionally to say hi! Have a great summer everyone :)

No sleep til Brooklyn

Alright, so sorry for not posting in a while, but we have been really really on the move, with not internet access anywhere. This has been a really long, eventful few days, starting in Corpus Christi, TX. We played a great show with our buddies, Avion at a beautiful amphitheater to a huge crowd. From there, we played the Wildflower Festival in Richardson, TX, and took the stage after Cowboy Mouth. Went out that night and pulled back up to my hotel as the sun was coming up. Got some of my favorite barbeque in Dallas, and saw Star Wars III the next day. As a fan of the older movies, I wasn't too thrilled with this one, although it was much better than I and II.
Things really started to get hectic on Monday though. We had to wake up at 4 for our flight to Miami. Got into Miami and went right to sleep for a few hours. Got some dinner and drinks and didn't make it home again til about 4:30. Just a big ol' party.
The next day we played the Y100 Summer Splash at the Office Depot Center in Miami, FL. Lindsay Lohan, and Tyler Hilton hosted, and we played with Gwen Stefani, Mario, Gavin DeGraw, Ciara, Backstreet Boys, our friends Simple Plan, and Jesse McCartney. Had a great time hanging out backstage, where we saw Dan Marino, met The Pussycat Dolls, and just made new friends in some of the bands.
Had a sick afterparty that I set up (I'm proud to say). Got Simple Plan, Jesse McCartney, and some of the Backstreet Boys to attend, which I'm pretty psyched about! Had a great time, stayed awake until our 7:20 flight to Houston for an afternoon show at Deer Park High School, as a promotion for the Sonic burger chain. Then, we flew again that day into Fayetville, AR, where we are right now for our show tonight. More to come soon hopefully.

Insane Weekend!

So, this weekend, we played in San Diego, and Anaheim, CA. Both shows were sick, filled with celebrities, and some of the top acts in pop. AFter playing about 5-6 shows with her, I finally got to lay my eyes on Gwen Stefani backstage. So hot!!!! Also, got to see J-Lo soundcheck, with Marc Anthony watching from offstage. Hung out with Simple Plan, and Lindsay Lohan's band. BTW, she is unrecognizable now with that blonde hair. The Black Eyed Peas put on an amazing performance, as did Kelly Clarkson. Just too many famous people to name milling around backstage. It was a blast. And, got to see a lot of friends backstage too. Going around and doing these big radio festivals has been a pretty coolw ay to meet people, and network with them. Looking forward to doing more of that.

And thank you to all of you who send in pics to jordanplosky@jordanplosky.com. It means a lot to get e-mails from all of you, so keep them coming!

This Weekend

So, I'm reallylooking forward to this weekend. We are playing two HUGE shows. The first is in San Diego, with Gwen Stefani, Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson, and my friends, Simple Plan. The next day, we are playing at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA. That's going to be the biggest crowd I've ever played in front of. I think it's going to be like 50,000 people, or something like that. Will Smith, J-Lo, and Gwen Stefani are headlining. Also, once again with Simple Plan, and our buddies in Lindsay Lohan's band. This is the biggest show of the year, without a doubt! Looking forward to rockin out.

Cypress Gardens

Alright, so HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Got back in time this morning to go to brunch with the family, and dinner for the holiday.
Anyway, the show at Cypress Gardens was one of the most fun times we as a band have had on stage. It was great having the whole band back together to play. After soundcheck, I met a lot of fans, and was on the local radio station, interviewed by a fan (you know who you are, birthday girl!) It was real fun meeting all the fans, and seeing a sign that was made just for me! I saw it while we performed, and that was cool to see from the stage!
Going to watch me some Family Guy....

More fun times...

If anyone was wondering, there is wireless internet access at the West Palm Beach airport. It's a good thing too, becuase I'm a little bored waiting for my flight for two hours. Anyway, quick re-cap of the weekend. Played at Disney again at the Magic Kingdom. We played 2 sets Friday night, and 2 sets Saturday night. Everything went great. After the show Saturday night, a couple of us went with a couple of the Yellowcard guys to Chris Kirkpatrick's (N*Sync) house and partied at one of the craziest homes I've seen. The Yellowcard guys were a blast, and Kirkpatrick was really cool and truly hospitable.
Sunfest in West Palm Beach was a great experience, and one of the most fun shows in recent memory. Huge crowd, and it was a gorgeous day. Thanks to everyone who showed up, and if you thought I was making funny faces at you, I probably was ;)

To let everyone know, I read all the comments, and e-mails. Thank you all for writing to me, and posting comments, it really does mean a lot. But please understand that I cannot respond to every e-mail. Some responses come across as little lines in my blog entry, so keep those eyes peeled, and maybe your response is closer than you think!

Great Weekend

So, the shows that we played at the Magic Kingdom, in Disney World were pretty killer! The stage was awesome, right in front of the castle, facing out to a great view. We got to go on a bunch of the rides, just walk right to the front of all the lines, and go on. It was sweet! Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, all so much fun!
The American Top 40 performance was cool too. Met Ryan Seacrest, Mark McGrath, Carmen Electra, Paula Abdul, and Casey Casum. Cool, cool cool! Also, ran into our friends in Hilary Duff's band, Gavin DeGraw and his band. Also, got a haircut, don't know if anyone noticed, didn't get a lot of face time on the show. Now, back home, taking care of some things before we head back to Florida for a full weekend of shows. Rock!

AWESOME! (And another TV appearance!)

So, the two shows we played this weekend, Wild Adventure in Valdosta,GA, and Six Flags in New England were amazing! They were so much fun for me, and the other guys in the band. It was great to be back on stage, performing after two weeks off. Thanks to everyone who showed up, and showed their support! LOVED the signs that were there for the band (not just Ryan!) NEED TO SEE MORE OF THAT!!!!
Only home for a few days. Psyched to go back out again to Orlando, where we are playing at Disney Grad Nite. I think we are playing with Ciara, and Yellowcard for those shows.

Also, we are going to be appearing on "American Top 40" THIS SUNDAY on Fox. I think it's at 8pm EST. But, not sure about the time. It's hosted by Ryan Seacrest, and there are going to be a bunch of other performances by some big pop stars, so CHECK IT OUT!

Wednesday, April 13, 2005

More work to be done

So, our break is coming to an end, and it's time to get out there and play more shows! We are flying to Valdosta, GA on Friday for our show there on Saturday. Then, we head to Springfield, MA for our show there on Sunday. Gonna be good to play again, see the guys again, and hang out with the fans again! looking forward to all of it (except the flying!)
Thanks to everyone for your e-mails, and the pictures that you send. I am sorry that I can't get back to all of you individually. Even though I'm home, I'm quite busy with family, and friends that I haven't seen since January. But, please keep supporting, and sending those e-mails. They're a big part of what makes it worth doing this! I guess more to come after this weekend...

GAME OVER!!!

So, the tour is FINALLY over! After being away from home since mid-January, I am finally going home tomorrow! We played our last show at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. There were thousands of people there, and we were the headliner for the day of music. Had a very memorable show, as a streaker ran across the stage, much to everyone's delight. However, when it was time for our dance number, security had been hightened, and a guard mistook me for a fan. he tried to drag me off stage, but Ryan and I convinced him that I was in the band. One of the strangest things that's ever happened to me at a gig.
We've said our goodbyes to our home away from home, the bus we've been touring on, and now we're off for about two weeks. After that we are flying out for gigs mostly on weekends all around the country. Check out www.ryancabrera.com for show info.

DVD Shoot!

So, the shoot for the live DVD went really well. We're all happy with the performance, and relieved that everything went smoothly. It was cool being in front of 8 cameras, and I'm sure a big highlight of my performance will be the dance that Ryan and I do during the middle of the set.
Went out after the show to celebrate our latest success. Now we are on the bus, which is surrounded by hundreds of fans, after we just played in San Diego. Flying to Austin, TX at 4:30 in the morning. Then, on Sunday morning, we get to GO HOME!!!!! Definitely psyched about some time off. I haven't been home since mid January, so I'm feeling getting back to NY!!! See ya there!

Tuesday, March 29, 2005

More cool stuff!

Just went to the Meinl website, the company that supplies my cymbals. They have a new artist page up for me, with my drum and cymbal setup laid out for everyone to see. Psyched about that! Check it out. visit www.meinl.de, click on cymbals, then artists, then scroll down to P for Jordan Plosky. Check it out!

J-14 Magazine

So, we have a day off in El Paso, TX right now, with not too much to do. However, the big news is that we, the band, have made our first appearance in a Teeny Bopper magazine! If you pick up the April Issue of J-14 Magazine, on the very last page, you will see a picture of myself, Ryan, Taylor, Ethan, KC, and Josh. It was the most embaressing thing in the world to actually buy a copy of the issue!

Dallas

So, we're in Dallas now....again....hooray. We got into town on Thursday, and played two shows, Friday and Saturday night at the Gypsy Tearoom. The second show was one of my favorite shows that I've played to date. Felt great, and just rocked out. Went out both nights after the shows, and closed down the place. Hanging out right now, recording a record for the aformentioned, Michael Fordinal, the guy whose been opening up for us. Having fun with that, and only one more day in Dallas! Then we're heading to Phoenix, which is a two day trip.
Just was told that we are filming a LIVE DVD at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, which we are all pretty psyched about. Truth be told, I'm a little nervous about it. This performance is going to live on DVD forever, so I hope it goes really really well.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSAY!!!

It's March 23rd! I know what day it is! Happy Birthday!

New Orleans!

Alright, aside from New York, New Orleans has become my favorite town that I have visited so far. Bourbon St. was incredible. Got to experience the night life, and even went down to Cafe Dumond for some bignets (sp?). Some of the local flavor! But the show at the House of Blues was sold out, so we were all pleased with that. I personally had a few HUUUGE mistakes during the show, but hopefully the giganticness of them was only in my mind. In Stafford, TX
(right outside Houston) for a show getting ready for soundcheck. All in all, things are going great. going to be in Dallas for a real long time starting tomorrow, then Phoenix, and Cali. More to come soon.....

Pics Pics Pics

Thanks so much to everyone who has e-mailed me their pictures from shows. It's awesome seeing those shots, and your point of view of the show! Here are a few that were sent in, and don't feel bad if I didn't post YOUR pic, but keep looking, and maybe it will make it up here!

Kansas City, MO

Last night was a gig in Kansas City, MO, at The Beaumont. Got to head out to the Kansas City's pop radio station, for a tour and some free goodies. Played a really fun show (with some MAJOR screw-ups), but all in all, had a blast with a cool crowd. Went out on the town with some of the guys in the band's friends. Had a blast. Went to some place with this cool cover band that did mostly DMB tunes. Got completely obliterated, but hey, it was Saturday night! Good times had by all. On our way to New Orleans for a show on Tuesday night, but I'm looking forward to checking out the city, since I've never been there before. More to come......

For Mikey V.

See Mike! Told you I'd post the pic! Looking classy, San Diego!

Uhhhh.....

So, we played the other night in Winston Salem, NC, at Ziggy's, which was a small place, but the crowd was awesome, and we all loved the show that we played. Had two days off traveling from there to Oklahoma for our next gig. Spent a day in Nashville, then drove 11 hourse to Oklahoma. Celebrated St. Partick's Day in Bricktown for a little bit. Now getting ready for our gig, then traveling back to Memphis for another day off on our way to New Orleans. Sorry for the lack of updates, but internet has become scarce lately for some reason. As always, any pics can be sent to jordanplosky@jordanplosky.com

"40 Kinds of Sadness" Video Shoot

So, last weekend, we played a show at LSU, called Groovin on the Grounds, a huge annual festival for the LSU students. We headlined a show with our usual tour opener, Bonnie McKee, The Ying Yang Twins, and Better Than Ezra. When we took the stage, there was probably around 10,000 people there watching. Cool show.
That was the first show we began filming footage for Ryan's next video, "40 Kinds Of Sadness". It's going to be a video made up of live footage, so myself and the rest of the band should be featured quite a bit. We had another show last night too, which we filmed at. I held the camera for a bit, which was really cool! The crowd responded really well to that. Another day off today, and tomorrow we are in North Carolina for another show. Will write more when I get a chance, we've been missing internet service about every other day, making it hard to add to the blog.

****E-mail any pics to jordanplosky@jordanplosky.com****

So, we just finished doing 6 shows in a row. We played last night in Memphis, the night before in Cincinnatti, which was awesome because we got to party with our friends in Ashlee Simpson's band. They were in town on a day off from their tour, and it was great to see them. We also played in Allentown, PA, Syracuse, and I guess some other places that are all starting to meld together in my head.
Had a day off in Memphis today, and Wedge, Mike Fordinal and myself went to visit the home of the King...ELVIS! Spent an amazing day at Graceland, and was blown away by the biggest selling artist ever. Very inspiring. Hopefully, some pics to come...

Tour has been great, your comments and pictures have been great too. Keep them coming!

DON'T FORGET

We will be appearing on Last Call with Carson Daly THIS TUESDAY NIGHT, MARCH 8TH, at 1:35amEST (so technically early Wednesday, March 10th morning). We are performing "40 Kinds of Sadness" at the end of the show, which is only a half hour long, so make sure to catch it around the 1:55 mark of the show! It was fun filming it, so I hope you'll have fun watching it!

More shows and travels...

So, since Irving Plaza, we have been to Maryland, Virginia, Syracuse, and we are now in Hartford. We have finished the first leg of the tour with Kyle Riabko, and Aslyn. We had a great last show with both of them in Towson, MD. We tied Kyle up while he was still on stage, and with Aslyn's band, we took away all the drums, and I carried her away from her piano at the end of the show. they managed to get us back though, and we all had a blast that night. Sad to see them go.
We had our first night with out new openers last night in Syracuse. Our stage manager, Michael Fordinal (www.fordinal.com) is opening, and is followed by Bonnie McKee, a Warner Bros. artist. So, we're all psyched for a new beginning.
Feeling better, not so sick anymore, and I think that's the general consensus on tour right now. More to come.

Irving Plaza!

Sorry it's been a while since I've last posted. A lot has happened in the last few days. We've played 2 sold out nights at Irving Plaza, in New York City, my homecoming show! It was amazing to play a venue that I have seen countless shows at growing up. It was also a great couple of shows because I had all my friends and family come to the show. It was great to see my parents from the stage, smiling and just glowing. I was so happy to finally have my closest friends come to the show and see what I've been doing for the past few months.
Our after party on Saturday night was great, at NA. Thanks to those who set it up, you know who you are.
Then, Monday, we filmed "40 Kind of Sadness" for Last Call with Carson Daly. Ice-T was on the show too, and it WILL AIR ON MARCH 8th. It was a real cool experience, because that show shares their studio with SNL, so we got to play in a studio with a LOT of history behind it. Great to be there. Now we're in Norfolk, VA getting ready for another show. More to come....

NJ, VA, and NY

Starland Ballroom, NJ. Heard a lot about it. We played Monday night, and it was a very cool setting. The crowd wrapped around the the stage, so that was something we'd never played to before. Great crowd, had a blast playing. Been a little sick lately, but once we get on stage, I forget all about it.
So, we played a show in Alexandria, VA the other night. Small club, very intimate setting. Could see just about everyone in the place from the stage. Cool show, and we then headed to Binghamton, NY for a day off. In Johnson City, NY today for another show, and we are headed straight to NYC right after the show. Psyched to go home!

Alright, so since Chicago, we have been to Philadelphia and Boston. Philly was great, and my boy Lee came out to support. Had a blast playing, and showing off what I do to my buddy. Was a little sick, so partying was not really an option that night.
From there, we went to Boston, and played a pretty kick ass show at Avalon, right by Fenway Park. Met up with my brother Eric, and some of his friends for dinner. we went out, and that was the FIRST time that I have gotten recognized on my own. Meaning, I wasn't with any other guys in the band, or with Ryan, but these three girls came up to me and asked for a picture. So, that was pretty surreal, and even more so becuase it happened in front of my brother. The show went great, and Boston fans are nuts! Avalon was a great place to play, and really nice backstage area.
Had a day off in Poughkeepsie, NY at our production manager's (Wedge's) house. Had some good home cooking, and made out way to Sayreville, NJ for our show tonight. We're all still pretty sick, but it shouldn't affect our performance. More later....

Chicago, what a wonderful town

So, we just finished playing two sold out shows at Chicago's House Of Blues. The first night went great. We played a great show, the crowd loved it, and we all felt great on stage. Went out that night to Rockit Bar and Grill. We LOVE that place, it's our unofficial base of operations when we're in Chicago. We get taken care of very well, and the crowd is always great. From there, we went to Le Passage.
The next day we did a "sound check party" for some contest winners. Played a few songs, then ate dinner at the House Of Blues restaurant. We were there without Ryan, and fans were still coming up to us asking for pictures and autographs. Whoah!
So, the show that night was kind of messed up. The whole crowd was kind of crazy, swaying back and forth, almost like a mosh pit. Little girls were getting crushed, getting carried out of the crowd by security, passing out, crying, all these wierd things that we've never seen before. It was pretty scary, and it definitely affected our performances. We were all a little spooked, you want everyone to have a good time, not get hurt.
Day off today, and going to be in Philly tomorrow.

Northern Lights

Alriight, so last night was one of the best shows we ever played. It was at Northern Lights, in Albany, NY. It was a freezing night, and there was a sold out crowd. It was so hot inside that the whole band was drenched with sweat by the end of the first song. Sweat was literally dripping off the RAFTERS!! I thought that was so friggin cool! After the show, we got to talk to some of the fans, and one of them told me that this was the best show she's EVER been to. I was pretty taken aback by that, it was an amazing compliment. Then another girl told me that she hadn't smiled all day until she came to our show. It's comments like that that really validate what we do, and make us all feel good about doing it. Very memorable night for all of us. Day off in Ohio today, en route to Milwaukee for our next gig.

Tour dates...

So, we've been to Nashville, Myrtle Beach, and Atlanta this week. Had a pretty rough show in Nashville. I went through THREE, count that THREE snare drums. Oof. Some pretty rough patches, but we worked through it, and I think the crowd still dug it all. Myrtle Beach was a great place to play, the House of Blues was awesome, and we were right across the street from an Alligator Adventure Park. Atlanta had an AMAZING crowd! Had a blast, and now we're on a day off in Virginia, driving from Atlanta to Connecticut.

Best Saturday night ever!

So, after we soundchecked for our Sunday performance at the Super Bowl tailgate, we went over to the Pepsi Smash concert with Three Doors Down, Jo Dee Messina, and Lynard Skynard. We hung out with the 3 Doors Down guys for a little bit, and they were all cool guys. Saw Jo Dee, and met Linda Van Zandt, Johnny's wife. Went straight from there to the best party I've ever attended, the PLAYBOY Super Bowl party. Hundreds of beautiful, half naked women, Playboy Playmates, Bunnies, and naked, body painted girls. Free drinks, food, and some pretty cool celebrities all around. Donovan McNabb, Johnny Chan, Gabrielle Union, some of the One Tree Hill kids, the Patriots Cheerleaders, Baltimore Ravens QB, and I even heard that Hef was there before we got there. From there we went to the Maxim party, where we ran into Paul Walker, Ryan from Yelloward, Questlove from the Roots, Katie Holmes, and Rob Schneider. What an AMAZING night! Who has a night like that?
Sunday's performance at the SuperBowl was a little short of magical. I'll leave it at that. Leaving for Nashville tomorrow to start our headlining bus tour with Aslyn, and Kyle Riabko. Can't wait to get on the bus and start playing our full set.

Kanye and Orlando

On the 4th, we played a show for Pepsi Smash with Kanye West and big Boi from Outkast. Was a decent show, had very nice backstage accomodations, and the VIP area in the arena was awesome! Met Kanye after the show, and he was a genuinely nice guy, very appreciative of all the praise people had for him.
So, yesterday, we took a 3 hour drive from Jacksonville to Orlando for the first show of our headlining tour. We played to a sold out crowd (2200) at the House Of Blues in Pleasure Island. What an AMAZING SHOW!!! Orlando fans are amazing, they responded so well to the show and the whole band had a blast putting it on. My buddy, and former Sprout lead singer, JT was there to see the show. I'm pretty sure he was impressed with the whole thing, having shared a stage with me, and now seeing what I've been up to lately. JT RULZ!!!
Oh, and finally, here's a picture with someone involved in the Superbowl festivities......

Jacksonville

So, Jacksonville has been pretty cool to us so far. There is a lot to do right across the river from where we are staying. Saw John Salley from The Best Damn Sports Show Ever doing a segment in front of Hooters! Everything here is Super Bowl-ed out! Everyone is selling merch, and everything is all about the Bowl here this week.
Went out last night and saw Sister Hazel play at a place called Freebirds. We met the band before the show, and got in free, which is always nice. Got sufficiently loaded, ate a lot of McDonalds and called it a night.
Many people have been getting in touch with me, telling me that they saw me on the Ashlee Simpson show. I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know when/where we were at the time. But, hopefully I'll get to see it and maybe have some insight for people who want to know.

Bye Bye LA, Hello.....Jacksonville?

Alright, so for one of our last real nights in LA, we went all the way down to Malibu for an amazing meal Sunday night. At the recommendation of our tour manager, Zeb, we wound up at a great seafood place right on the water. Can't remember the name of it though. And closed off the night at a club named Dragonfly, where we watched the geek rock cover band, The Spazmatics. Another great show. All of that was Sunday. Monday was a lazy day, and laundry day.
Tuesday was a travel day from LA to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Jacksonville. Long day of flying, and we lost three hours coming back to the east coast. All had dinner together as a group. I had my first ever Cracker Barrel experience, which was pretty delicious! Here's a rundown of the next few days.
February 3rd- Pepsi Smash Concert Series, with Kanye West, and Big Boi from Outkast
February 4th- First Headlining show in Orlando, House Of Blues
February 5th- Off in Jacksonville
February 6th- Pre-game performance in parking lot (non-televised)
And we just found out we are going to play the Eagles afterparty, so we're all hoping that they win!!! Go Eagles!

More LA time...

so, Thursday all day, from about 9am through about 10pm, we were busy with the taping of the MTV show. We taped it at Avalon in Hollywood, and although it was very tiring, we all had a blast doing it. Nice to meet Miss Teen USA 2003. She was the "prize" that the two contestants were fighting for. Got a bunch of free clothes and sneakers that won't fit in my already jam packed suitcase. then we went out to a low key acoustic type club.
Then yesterday we had rehearsal, had some dinner at the Sportsmen's Lodge, where we're staying, then headed back out to Avalon to watch THE DAN BAND! For those of you unfamiliar with the Dan Band, they were the wedding band in the movie Old School. Hysterical, amazing show. The performance was overall phenominal. We got to go backstage and meet them all after the show. What cool guys. Hopefully the photo will be posted real soon. Then we hung around the club, hung out with Jack Osbourne, and also spotted Stacey Keibler from WWF, and the girlfriend from the movie Orange County. Had to dodge the paparazzi because of some of the friends we had in tow. That was a pretty ugly experience, and I don't envy anyone who has to go through that.

LA

So, we're back in LA for a week of work. SOO glad to get out of snowcovered, freezing cold NY. busy with rehearsals in LA, and also started working with MTV for our project with them. That was a long day, but everyone likes what we've been doing so far.
Went out last night to a comedy club to see Dane Cook. We also got to see Godfrey (the 7up guy), Ralphie May and some other really funny guys. Then moved over to The Saddle Ranch to meet some friends. Got introduced to some of the Hoobastank guys, and Ryan Star from American Idol, and Surreal Life. The funniest part of the night was when Nick Poppageorgio from Vegas Vacation got up to do karaoke. he was HORRIBLE! Good times here in LA. More to come....

Another thing...

It's not too late to pick up a copy of the February issue of Modern Drummer (with Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver on the cover). This is my first appearance in a trade magazine. It's for an ad for Meinl Cymbals, my amazing endorsers. So, just wanted to mention that little photo in the magazine. My first....no biggie. :)

Recent events

So, we played again for the first time in a month. We were a part of Inauguration week, 2005. We played a big show set up by Barbara Bush (the daughter, not the mother). It was a concert called "America's Future Rocks Today", held at The Armory. For not having played together in a month, we put on a pretty good show in front of 10,000 kids. We played with Fuel, 3 Doors Down, Reuben Studdard, JoJo, and Hilary Duff.
The show went well, but then we were stuck at the venue for like 2 hours, because the president was coming in. So, we couldn't leave, and couldn't even get back to our gear or dressing room. We all got split up, and then when we finally DID all regroup, we didn't have transportation back to our hotel, so we had to wait ANOTHER hour. Long, stressful night. But, I got to see the president speak, be in the same building, all that jazz.
THEN, our flight from DC to NY was delayed about 2 1/2 hours becuase of weather conditions. We wound up making a flight that got us in JUST IN TIME for soundcheck at NYC's China Club, for a WPLJ performance. The show went great. Played for about an hour, and had a blast. The show was great, the fans were very cool, and that great night totally balanced out the previous night. Now, looking forward to the 24th, when we go to LA for rehearsals, and see some west coast dwelling friends.
Oh, and Ashlee Simposon's show returns with a new season on January 26th. Don't be suprised if you catch a familiar face on there.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So, for New Years Eve, I attended MTV's Iced Out New Years! What an awesome night. Green Day performed, and I got to hang out with the band. anyone who knows me, knows that they are my all time favorite band, and biggest musical inspiration. Needless to say, hanging out with my idols was a pretty damn cool experience. They were honestly the coolest guys, genuinely nice people.
The party was great, performances, amazing, and just an overall unforgettable night. here's some of the evidence...

They are with Jimmy Kimmel, Lucy Lawless (Xena Warrior Princess), and Skye Sweetnam's band, who opened for us on our bus tour. Enjoy, and more to come....

Done for 2004

So we finished up the year with a great show in San Antonio, TX. We played at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater with Kevin Lyttle, Gavin DeGraw, Bowling For Soup, and Switchfoot. At the same time that it was sad to say goodbye to all of our new friends, I am really happy to have some time off at home, and go more than two days without getting on a plane. So, word is that there is some big stuff in the works for Ryan and all us band guys in 2005. Going to be keeping everyone posted, so keep checking in! Hopefully I will have a nice amount of pics to put up real soon. Until then...Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas!

Almost Over

So, today we are in Kansas City, MO. It is our second to last day out on the road. That's right, I'm going to be home on Long Island, at my apartment for a good few weeks. Looking forward to some time off. The time spent out on the road has been phenominal, but flying EVERY single day takes a toll on you. Plus, we are literally working 7 day weeks. It might not sound like a lot, but believe me, it is.
We are headlining a show tonight with Vanessa Carlton, Gavin DeGraw, Aaron Carter, Tyler Hilton and Benji and Joel from Good Charlotte. Should be a blast. Staying at a real nice hotel, and gonna party tonight! Celebrate the end of our tour.

So, there won't be many posts coming in the future, since I will be home, not touring. But, check every now and again. For example, we are playing at The China Club in NYC on 1/18/05. Also, I think we are involved with Super Bowl Weekend, so look for us there too. Will keep posting......keep reading!

More shows...

So, we've been flying and playing a show every day. All the traveling really does take a toll on you. We are all pretty tired, and looking forward to our time off. Since playing Jingle Ball at MSG, in NYC, we have played arenas in Minneapolis, Miami, and now an amphitheater for q102 in Philly. Playing with a lot of big names, Maroon 5, Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas have been on the last few shows. I'll get a whole list of groups/artists that we've performed with when I get more than 2 seconds to post.

Madison Square Garden!!!!

So, we played in Boston with our new friends, Simple Plan and Christina Milian, Gavin DeGraw, Vanessa Carlton, Black Eyed Peas, John Mayer, Ashlee Simpson and more. My brother Eric came to the show and I think he got a good taste of what has been going on in my life for the past few months.
The next morning, we left Boston at 4am for a 9am soundcheck at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN! Being onstage there was such an amazing thrill, even though there was no crowd there yet. I was so psyched right after soundcheck, just completely pumped! Took the rest of the day real easy, and made sure that my mom, dad and grandma got into the show. Got to see them before we went on stage witch was exciting for all of us.
I'm going to make this short for one reason only. There is no way to convey the feeling, the high, the rush, the emotion that I, and the rest of the guys felt during and after our performance at the most legendary arena in the world. It was literally a dream come true, and one of the best nights of my life.

Big post

So, since I last posted, we've played some pretty amazing places. The Tacoma Dome in Seattle Washington was a huuuuge place to play. We played to a crowd of 17,000. On the bill was Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff, Maroon 5, Switchfoot, Christina Milian, and maybe some others. There were a lot of problems on the day f the show, but we pulled off a great set in front of the biggest crowd I've ever played in front of.
After seattle was Oklahoma City, with Gavin DeGraw, Vanessa Carlton and Bowling For Soup. Great show, lots of fun, and all that jazz. In Houston today, playing the Reliant Arena to at least 10,000 people. Playing again with Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, Vanessa Carlton, Jo Jo, and Christina Milian. Looking forward to it. Staying at the Hotel Derek, which is AMAZING. By far the nicest hotel room I've had so far. More to come....

Lexington, KY

Just finished a set at the Rupp Arena, which is friggin HUGE! Our dressing room was the Wildcats locker room. Pretty sick. Kevin Lyttle performed, then COOLIO!!! We played next, followed by Simple Plan, and Chingy headlined. Got some compliments from the Simple Plan guys about my drumming. That's pretty friggin cool.
On another note, we went out last night to an afterparty where Bowling For Soup played an acoustic set. There was a drum set onstage and I jumped up and played "Out The Window" with them. It was real cool. Everyone we're meeting out here has been pretty cool, which is a relief, and just makes the whole experience better. Hopefully some cool pics will be coming soon!

Indianapolis

Just finished an awesome radio show in Indianapolis at the Pepsi Coliseum Indiana State Fairgrounds. Must've been about 7-8 thousand people. Bowling For Soup opened up the show with a breif acoustic set. Then we came on, followed by Chingy, Simple Plan, and Kelly Clarkson. Had a blast. On our way to an afterparty where Bowling For Soup is going to play for about an hour an a half. Really looking forward to that. Then, off to Lexington, Kentucky tomorrow. Love me some Kentucky.

Cymbals

I'm featured on the Meinl cymbals web site.

Austin, TX

Played at the Austin Music Hall last night. We headlined a show with Toby Lightman, Bowling for Soup and Gavin DeGraw. Got to meet Gavin and the guys in his band. Cool group of guys, and we're going to be playing a bunch of X-Mas shows with them this season, so it's cool to get along right off the bat. Had a really nice dinner before the show with our kick-ass label rep, Stacy. Then we went out in Austin, and wound up celebrating K.C.'s birthday. In Indianapolis right now. We have a show tomorrow, called Santa Slam. Should be awesome, and hopefully I'll get to update the site again after that.

Tour ova!

Alright, so the show in Dallas at the Gypsy Tea Room marked the end of our first headlining tour. What a great experience, overall. Now we are headed into the radio Christmas Festival season. We are gearing up to play at some arenas around the country, with some of the biggest pop artists out right now. Next show is on November 30th in Austin. Can't wait to start this new leg of things. I'll be home on December 16th for a while....til our next tour :)

HOME!!

So, it's been a while since I've written anything. My computer is broken, making it kind of hard to get online out on the road. So, some highlights since I last wrote...got to hang out in Philly with my Buddy Lee! Had a blast. Saw Alan Iverson at TGIFriday's in philly. And was home for my first time since early October. Got to go home, drive my car, check out my apartment, and have dinner with my family. Going out tonight for my birthday, seeing all my friends that I haven't seen in two months or more.
But, the shows have been killer, sold out, crazy crowds. Signing autographs, taking pictures, throwing out sticks, setlists, hugs, high-fives! Some pretty intense fans out there. We were followed by a few fans down the jersey turnpike, which was pretty weird. Still not used to stuff like that. But, it's still pretty cool!
